Ingredients:
- 1 cup Whole Finger Millets (Ragi)
- 2 cups Water (for soaking)
- 1 cup heaped Grated fresh coconut
- 3/4 cup Jaggery pieces
- 4 1/2 tablespoons Ghee
- 1/4 teaspoon Salt
Preparation Steps:
- Soak ragi in water overnight or for 8 hours
- Blend the soaked ragi, coconut, salt, and jaggery into a velvety paste, gradually incorporating water to achieve a thick, smooth consistency
Cooking Steps:
- Transfer the paste into a deep cooking pan (Kadai), add ghee, and cook over medium heat
- Stir continuously for 10 to 12 minutes until the batter becomes thick and leaves the pan
- Shift the thick mixture to a banana leaf (applied with ghee) or a ghee-applied steel plate
- When it is half-cooled, cut into 2-inch cubes.
